If we can let go of our preconceptions and dive into the level of pure, experienced sensation, we can begin to experience the world as it truly is: an unlimited expanse of vibration; a contraction of the awareness in which it lives. This is the focus of BodySensing Yoga.

In this course Dr. Richard Miller introduces the art of BodySensing hatha yoga as a means to build somatic awareness and move beyond the confines of the mind and body. Richard discusses how developing somatic awareness with body sensing is a way to calm both and mind and reset the nervous system. He discusses the implications this has for our ability to be and remain healthy, happy and resilient in the face of life's challenges.

Yoga Practice Video #1—BodySensing: Sun Salutation

A gentle meditative approach to a classical practice. This class uses Sun Salutations as a foundation for BodySensing, a unique approach to yoga that places more emphasis on feeling inside the body than on the structure of the pose. By emphasising function rather than form, we become more aware of what's going on within us and access the wisdom of the body for healing and transformation.

Yoga Practice #2—BodySensing: Sitting, Lying

A gentle extended practice that focuses on meditation in movement through standing, lying, backbending and forward bending positions for all-around health, resiliency and well-being.

Yoga Practice #3—Three Breathing Spaces: Anuloma-Viloma Ujjayi

Explore awareness of breath through the gentle breathing technique Anuloma-Viloma Krama. The word Krama means step in Sanskrit, and this type of pranayama builds depth and quality of the breath through a three step inhale, and a three step exhale. Practice this pranayama technique and enjoy a deeper awareness through breath.

BodySensing Instructional Guide

A profound, step-by-step guide through the technique of BodySensing, containing pointers and cues to help the practitioner connect to and deepen their experience. This document also provides a deeper understanding of the framework for BodySensing and how this technique allows us to move beyond the limits of the body and the thinking mind and tap into something far more expansive and authentic.

Your Course Also Includes:

  • Recordings of Both Webinar Sessions: Yours to keep. It’s generally acknowledged that many people only retain 10-20 percent of what they learn in a workshop. You will get the recordings of both webinar sessions - both MP3 (downloadable) and MP4 (streaming online), enabling you to go back and listen to the workshop as many times as you like.

  • Transcripts of Both Sessions: Ever wanted to refer to a certain part of a course? Even the best note takers miss a point every so often. With the transcripts of the sessions, you can go back and refer to particularly important passages or clarify sections you were in doubt about.
